Common questions

Response Times and Booking

How do I book online?

Use the contact form or call (02) 9134 9059 and tell us what's happening. We'll lock in a time, and the $50 online-booking offer is applied automatically.

Are you really open 24/7?

Every single day of the year, weekends and public holidays too. Someone picks up whenever you ring, no queue, no recording.

What counts as a drain emergency?

Sewage coming back up inside the house, water pooling around a gully trap, or a toilet that keeps overflowing no matter what you do. Any of those and it's worth ringing us the moment it starts, rather than hoping it settles on its own.

How fast can you get here?

We guarantee on-site in 30 minutes once you've called. Peak hour on the Pacific Highway or the middle of the night, the guarantee holds either way.

Common questions

Pricing and Offers

Do you charge a call-out fee?

No. $0 call-out fee on every visit, plus a free quote. Nothing changes hands until you've seen the number and said yes.

How do quotes work?

A plumber inspects the drain, explains what's actually wrong, and writes down a fixed price before touching a tool. That's the price you pay, full stop.

Do prices change once you start?

It doesn't move once you've signed off on it. Even if the job runs long or the pipe underneath turns out worse than expected, the figure you approved stands.

How does the 10% seniors discount work?

Say the word when you book and it's taken off before you approve anything. It stacks with the free quote, though not on top of the online-booking offer.

Common questions

The Lindfield Questions

How local are you, really?

We're working somewhere in Ku-ring-gai most weeks of the year, Lindfield included. The suburb's ridge streets, its double-brick housing stock and the drainage quirks that come with both are familiar territory, not a postcode we looked up on the way.

Do tree roots really get into pipes here?

Often. The heavy canopy along streets like Beaconsfield Parade sends roots hunting for moisture, and Lindfield's older clay pipe gives them plenty of hairline cracks to get through. Autumn makes it worse. Leaf fall from that same canopy clogs gutters and stormwater pits right when root growth is most active underground.

Why do Lindfield's older drains keep blocking?

A lot of the suburb's Federation-era housing still runs on its original earthenware drainage. Decades in the ground leaves it brittle, ground movement opens seams, and that's exactly where roots get their start.

What suburbs do you service?

Lindfield, plus Roseville, Killara, Chatswood, Gordon and Forestville. Not sure if your street counts? Call and we'll tell you straight away.

Common questions

Whose Drain Is It, and Who Can Touch It

Can I clear a blocked drain myself?

If it's just one sink or toilet, a plunger is worth a go and won't cause any harm. Chemical cleaners and hired electric eels are riskier on Lindfield's older earthenware pipe, and drainage work itself is licensed territory under NSW law, not a DIY job.

What warranty do I get?

A lifetime labour warranty covers every job we do. Something's not right after we've left? We're back, and it costs you nothing.

What is an overflow relief gully and why does it matter?

It's the small grated pit set into the ground near your house, usually where your drainage line sits at its lowest. If water is rising out of it rather than draining away, the line behind it is backed up, and that's worth acting on straight away rather than leaving it.

Do wipes really block drains?

Constantly, and the ones labelled flushable are no better. They hold together where toilet paper breaks apart, snag on a root or a rough pipe joint, and build into a blockage over a few weeks.
